Since 1971, the Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 (IU13) has been providing services and products to address the needs of local school districts. As evolving economies, mandates, and needs developed through the years, IU13’s main success has emerged from meeting those demands in a timely, efficient and cost efficient way.

For many years, the Lancaster-Lebanon Public Schools Joint Purchasing Program had always been the standard for procurement cost savings. However, with the assistance and input of a dedicated steering team consisting of school district business administrators and school purchasing professionals, IU13 has revolutionized the way public procurement is brought to governmental entities.

Along with input from an Advisory Team composed of local school business officials, IU13’s Collaborative Purchasing Solutions (CPS) has been developed to meet the demands of twenty first century purchasing practices in one centralized hub.
